We are in partnership with Link into Learning who run regular IT lessons in our suite which has recently been updated with a network of computers running Windows Vista and the latest Office 2007 including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. All of the computers are networked and are connected to a Colour Laser Printer.
Link into Learning do not only teach IT
Link into Learning are here on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Link offers friendly, individualised help with the essential skills of adult literacy, numeracy and ICT. All courses are free.
Literacy
Covers English reading and writing skills including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the communication and study skills which will help you move on to further learning.
Numeracy
Involves handling numbers, data, diagrams, measurements and money calculations which you might come across at work or in everyday life.
ICT
Can be basic computer skills needed to support literacy or the new Functional Skill in ICT, which includes email, internet, spreadsheet and handling files. These courses are delivered in our computer suite, which has recently been updated with computers running Windows Vista and the latest Office 2007.
Qualifications
All Link’s courses end with a qualification. We offer nationally recognised adult qualifications in literacy and numeracy which can plug a gap in your CV, if you do not already have GCSE’s or their equivalent, in English and Maths. They also offer less challenging Entry level qualifications.
